Webster defines STYLE  as a particular manner or technique by which something is done, created, or performed <a unique style of horseback riding> <the classical style of dance> and I will add <I like his style of photography>.     I have wanted to address this issue for sometime now and I am sure it will be a long one.   Not for the person who is looking for a quick read, but for the artist who is looking to define what is their strong points and who would like to identify the STYLE of photography.

I am pretty sure someone will be able to add to what I will provide in this article, and I am ok with that.  This is not the zenith of knowledge on the subject it is meant to be a starter , an entry into Photographers bring a structure to the art they create with one of our most important tools –  THE CAMERA!

Technique and presentation
That’s the package, but it’s just as important. Finding those things you focus on. The way you compose your work, The way you crop it, special filters you use, flipping the pictures, reflections, B&W, a color theme, patterns, scales, silhouettes, long exposures… all those can be defined as styles if they repeat themselves in your work

  1. Hello Sir, This is the very first time I have read insiteful information of interest from a photographer. No pun intended. It is such a breath of fresh air to have a male photographer speak of his work with such integrity. Knowing etiquette and respectful of one’s profession is so key. I sense your passion with such an intricate gift.

I stumbled upon your page in a sense as a dreamer. Ahhing and oohing your talent a well as the beautiful pictures of the models. I consider myself a headshot personality. I’ve always wanted to do a full body photo shoot. In all honesty believing in your own image is sometimes frustrating and uncomfortable when you’re not “model body ready.” My confidence in that area is a bit on the low end I must admit. ;o) Just keeping it real. Not to say a great repor with a seasoned photographercouldn’t bring out the best. I am a Poet, Author and Educator. My creative edge is interestingly, secretly, eroticly, tasteful. I would love the opportunity to discuss some of the ideas I have for a photo shoot. I’m working on a Jazz/Spoken Word CD with Longinoue Parsons “Dee~Livered~From Past to Present to Love. Thanks for allowing me to get a peek into your world as an Artist.
